Visit The Hammer In LAFebruary 20, 2012 5:32 am News and Society
My first time to the Hammer Museum was a brilliant experience. I had wanted to explore the city of Los Angeles for a while and my friend suggested that if I was interested in finding Things to do in LA, I should check out The Heavy, an edgy rock band from England, at the Hammer Museum.
So we hopped in a car and made our way to the Hammer. When we got there the line was pretty long, wrapping around the building as some of the most stylish residents of LA Today waited impatiently. When we finally got inside, after what must have been an hour plus, we were free to roam certain parts of the museum while we waited for The Heavy to take the stage. It was an absolutely beautiful venue. The stage was located in a large courtyard open to the night sky and there was plenty of room to roam around and take in the modern art. I couldn’t help thinking what a delight it would be to come back in the day when the museum is fully open and just while away the day drinking in the sleek colors and lines of their exhibits.
When The Heavy took the stage, the crowd went wild and the husky voice of their lead singer filled the entire building. It was an incredible experience. The event made the Hammer Museum one of my favorite places to visit when I’m wondering What to do in LA. I can’t wait to go back and will definitely be telling everybody about this place.
