Advantages of going for your maternity leave at the right time

In every balanced organization, women constitute almost half of the entire staff. It estimated that among this almost a third of them will go for maternity leave in the first quarter of there employment. Some times organizations find it hard to grant maternity leave to over three members of staff at the same time. Doing such a thing can have a big financial impact on the organizations. Maternity leave is a statutory requirement and therefore every employer should provide one to his employees when it falls due. Those going for it not only have the right earning all the wages and salaries in full, but they also get a chance of staying away from work for a long period of time. Maternity Leave Entitlement varies from one country to another, however the common maternity leave laws remain the same across the board. It is obvious that the mother going for maternity leave will claim all her salary and any other benefits for all the entire twenty six weeks that she will be on maternity leave. That is one of the advantages of the maternity leave, it doesn’t infringe ones right to remuneration. Those on the leave are prevented from being subjected to redundancy. The employer should not take advantage of the employee being on leave so to declare her redundant. This is unlawful and in case anything of the sort happens, the employer will be required to give full proof for the reason that made him sack the baby sitting mother. Some fathers have been wondering if this law should be extended to them too if they go for paternity leave too. That should be a point of discussion with their employers so as to find a lasting solution.
