Organized:

This should go without saying, but nonetheless here it is. One of the key tasks someone in this line of work is responsible for is ensuring that their employer is organized. If they themselves aren’t organized then the job will just be a disaster. A personal assistant needs to be able to keep track of a lot of little details all of the time.

Multitasker:

Like being organized, this is imperative. Everyone’s resume says they are great at multitasking but unless it’s one hundred percent true, the job of personal assistant won’t work very well. At any given time a PA will be responsible for their boss’s schedule, running multiple errands, answering the phones, and a multitude of other things as well. Because of the nature of the work, a PA can’t just say they’ll do something later.

Motivated:

A personal assistant needs to have a lot of drive in order to get the work done. It’s not always easy to put one’s heart and soul into a job that only really benefits one person or a family, but that’s the reality of this job a lot of the time. Because of that, people in this line of work need to be able to be able to find self motivation in order to keep going.
